In a multi-participant group exhibition, artists will be given the opportunity to partake in an artistic experiment totally eliminating the curator’s function. The artists will take upon themselves the process of setting-up the Absence exhibition, typically consisting of a Vision, Theme, Choice, Selection and Hanging.

For nine years I have been summoned to the world of artists, a world full of color, sentiment, panic, elation, thought and imagination. I was drawn in. Exhilarated that a line, stain and image generate at once a statement for a thousand words. The artists presented me with choices, decisions, planning and phrasing that glorified my world, expanded the limits of my happiness and the daily complexity and delicacy. Were the soundtrack of my life. Oblivious, I forgot to phrase the first sentences of every tiny story that I encountered, a physiological habit that has accompanied me since the age of six. I missed the words, and their shapes, the search and grammar, the personas and the tale. The writing.
I want to use my temporary absence and my geographical distance to create an exhibition deconstructing the close relations between artists and curators. Their artistic work will expand the living space and invade the bastions of choice, editing, phrasing and hanging of the missing curator. Recalculating the new path will force us to restrain and curb the curiosity related with the other person’s soul, and focus on isolationist work, neutralized of fertilizing dialogue, guidance and advice.

The Back Shortly exhibition deals with dependence and shedding, absence and return. It’s an attempt whose outcomes are unknown but promise thoughts, sentiments, and a journey into the depths of the spirit and the walls of “Zadik” – the gallery for attainable art.
